The Broad Facade
As stated in this article “Flat 2.0 is an evolution, not a revolution”. It seems like flat design came out of no where, it was actually a gradual change lead from ux design. The term skeuomorphism is a derivative object that retains ornamental design cues from structures that were necessary in the original Wiki1. Long gone are the days where design emulates the real world...
Flat 2.0 give us Designers a chance to add just a bit more detail without going too nuts.
Now I ask is this a good thing, or should we go back to the days of design emulating life, or can we just take our designer’s license and design like flat we are living in a 2D world?
“The design, by startchitects Diller Scofidio + Renfro, was originally advertised as an "innovative veil" that will activate "two-way views that connect the museum and the street"; today it's been updated to be, well, a bit less innovative.”
The museum is scheduled to open in the fall, this coming September seems like it might be plagued with the issues the Broad collections itself. Although he does have an extensive collection, by well know artist, his pieces are not necessarily the best work by those artist, it seem the same might be true for the building as well. Although having said the It is great that the city of Los Angeles has a new muse to visit and hopefully artist of types will be inspired, we will soon have that opportunity to do so.
